House Chants

At Clevedon School we build the house spirit by creating a house chant for each of the four houses - Kiwi, Tui, Weka and Kaka. Our house leaders work very hard to make a chant that their house will be able to learn in a short amount of time and chant it loud and proud.

We all did extremely well but this year Tui house took out the cup.

Painting

This afternoon we helped Miss Clough paint some bunting for the house chants on Friday.

We painted it red for Tui, green for Weka, blue for Kaka and yellow for Kiwi.

Some of us got rather messy, luckily the paint is washable!!

Venn Diagram

As part of our Inquiry Unit we have been learning about roles and responsibilities. We compared the responsibilities of a teacher with the the responsibilities of a child.

We were surprised to find out teachers and children share some of the same responsibilities.

Rockets

Today we watched the Kowhai Team launch their rockets. They had a brief to follow and had to make their rocket go further than the cones. Some groups made modifications to make their rocket go even further.

We had fun watching the children launch their rockets!!

Assembly

Congratulations to Ben, William and Aimee for receiving a school PRIDE certificate for displaying Integrity!

We sung 'A Rainbow' in sign language - Great work Room 12!!

Annabelle got a free lunch from just good lunches for consistently displaying the school PRIDE values - Keep it up Annabelle!

Our Learning

We worked with our buddies to create a friend for the letter Ff - We were reciprocal and took turns and listened to each other to make our friends.

We then took our friends outside to measure them side by side to see if it was shorter or taller. We found out that Reilly is the tallest and Hannah is the shortest.

"Sing a Rainbow"

Today we were very privileged to have Jan come in and teach us sign language. We learnt the alphabet, colours, objects and a song.

Integrity

Room 12 has been learning how to show Integrity. We learnt a song about Integrity.

We show this PRIDE value and are truthful, sincere and trustworthy. 

We do the right thing even when no one is watching!
